Seated, actually sitting in a chair leaning back on it. She also had a patterned robe draped around part of her which I've included in the corner to remember its presence and the overall pose. The paper I'm using is some recycled magical paper that has alot of little specks and pieces floating around in it. In this drawing a random, pinkish colored spot just happened to wind up exactly where she needed her left nipple. I didn't plan it that way, it just happened. One guy in the room overheard me talking about it and insisted on seeing this "happenstance nipple" as he called it, for himself. I laughed at that and as I did he said "that sounds like an Edward Gorey story, The Happenstance Nipple". Funny.
This is a continuation of the "Children of the Soft Machine" series I started last year (2006). I still start out drawing large to loosen up and the get blood and magic flowing. Recently I've been finding myself drawing the figures on these smaller sheets of paper that I found. I like working with this natural colored paper. Currently it's making me happy. |
